But before concentrating on Jerusalem, you’ll see so many other aspects of the Israel’s past. At Caesarea, the capital city of Judea in Roman times, see the excavations that have yielded centuries’ old treasures, including a Crusader City, the Roman Port, an Aqueduct and Amphitheatre. In beautiful Haifa visit the Baha’i Shrine with its exquisite golden domes.
Moving inland, the biblical past unfolds as you stand on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Tour Nazareth’s s Church of the Annunciation where many Christians believe the Virgin Mary met the Archangel Gabriel. Float in the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, hear at the dramatic story of Masada where, in 73 AD, the Zealots fought their final battle against the Romans before committing mass suicide, and, experience the communal life while spending the night on a Kibbutz.
