Our 8-day tour easily encompasses the most important aspects of Israel’s fascinating biblical past with the emphasis on the major sites that are recorded in both the Old and New Testament.
As you walk through the pages of the Bible, gain insight into all aspects of this country’s amazing past. Look down from the Mount of Olives over Jerusalem many churches and temples. Follow the Stations of the Cross as you walk down the Via Dolorosa, marvel at Roman ruins, Crusader forts and follow in the footsteps of Jesus in Nazareth, Bethlehem and on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. In Banias, stand at the source of the Jordan River.
In history of Jerusalem, Haifa and Tel Aviv come to life as you are guided around their premier sites. Plus you’ll have the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the modern-day kibbutz during a 2-night stay in a kibbutz hotel.

Start the day with a panoramic view of Jerusalem from the top of Mt’ of Olives. On to the Garden of Gethsemane and Church of the Agony. Continue to Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea scrolls, then a visit to the beautifully renovated Model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem, dating back to the time of the Second Temple. Continue to Yad Vashem (the memorial to the six million Jews who were killed in the Holocaust. Afternoon visit to the picturesque village of Ein Karem , the birth place of John the Baptist.

This morning enter the old, walled city, walking through the Jewish Quarter to the Western Wall, along the Via Dolorosa and the Stations of the Cross, to arrive at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. At Mount Zion visit King David’s tomb, the Room of the Last Supper and Dormition Abbey. In Bethlehem* visit Christ’s birthplace, the Church of Nativity and Rachel’s Tomb.

Today drive north via Jericho*, and the scenic Jordan Valley to Beit Shean to visit the Roman excavations. Go on to Nazareth to see the Church of the Annunciation & Mary’s well. In Safed, city of the Kabala, walk through the mystic alleys and the artists’ colony. Overnight on a Kibbutz.

Galilee
Drive to the Golan Heights and see the former Syrian fortifications and some Druze villages. On the shores of the Sea of Galilee tour the ruins of the ancient synagogue and Peter’s House at Capernaum. Next visit Tabgha, site of the miracle of the Loaves & Fishes and Mt Beatitude. After a short tour of Tiberias the old center of Jewish learning, return to the Kibbutz hotel.

Head west today to Acre and visit the Crusader stronghold and medieval fortifications. Next enjoy a tour of Haifa, including the Bahai Shrine, Persian Garden and Mount Carmel for a panoramic view of the city. Afterwards tour the Roman Theater and the Crusader fortress at Caesarea before arriving in Tel Aviv for a short tour of city and Jaffa.
