Wellington, the capital and renowned for its art and gardens is your next stop before crossing the Cook Strait by ferry and cruising up the scenic Marlborough and Queen Charlotte Sounds to Picton, gateway of the South Island.
Dramatic coastlines, snow-capped mountains, majestic Franz Josef Glacier and deeply incised fjords are all part of the South Island magic. The days spent in Queenstown, New Zealand’s adventure centre, are filled with optional activities to satisfy everyone’s interests. One of the tour’s highlights is cruising the Milford Sound with its steep, lushly forested cliffs trapping rainbows high in the peaks above. Be charmed by Dunedin’s quaint Victorian buildings, admire the unique Moeraki Boulders and the soaring heights of Mt. Cook before ending the journey in Christchurch.
