Nepal

Overview of Nepal

Welcome to the ‘Abode of the Gods’, to a nation nestling deep in the heart of the Himalayas where monumental peaks soar into the heavens.  Nepal is a land of extreme contrasts; from the remote majesty of the world’s highest mountains attracting climbers from around the globe to the steamy jungles of its national parks, where you can ride through the thick undergrowth on an elephant in search of the elusive Bengal Tiger and the pre-historic looking and rare One-horned Rhino.

Welcome too, to the Nepalese people whose greeting of ‘namaste’ is genuinely offered, and who, with warm smiles, are eager to introduce you to their magical land, a unique combination of human cultures and natural habitats.  Nepal is a profoundly spiritual country where Hinduism and Buddhism influence the daily lives of the people.  The Kathmandu Valley is filled with fascinating temples and pagodas, and almost every day, somewhere across the country, a religious festival is taking place.

Nepal offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world and whether you want to challenge yourself on a mountain trek, raft down one of its powerful rivers, discover tranquility within a Buddhist monastery or game view and bird watch in one of its many reserves, Nepal is picture-perfect.  Come for the tigers, nirvana even the mythological yeti, Nepal won’t disappoint you!
