Concentrating on the three most important cities in this region, you will have the opportunity to see some of the finest Mughal buildings to be found anywhere in India. Starting in Delhi, see the magnificent Red Fort, the Qutab Minar, and the gracious setting of the Parliament buildings in the days of the Raj as well as visit the memorial for Mahatma Gandhi.
In Jaipur, often called the ‘pink city’ due to the delicately rose-hued stone used in its buildings, arrive in style on the back of a brightly decorated elephant at the Amber Fort before exploring Jaipur’s many treasured palaces. In the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri, marvel at the exquisite Mughal buildings then arrive in Agra, the jewel in the Rajasthan’s crown.
Here you’ll have time to absorb the breathtaking beauty of the Taj Mahal as well as tour many of the city’s other fascinating forts and palaces. There is also time to relax and enjoy optional activities.
