Kafue National Park in Zambia is one of Africa’s last great reserves where you step back in time and experience the wilderness as the 19th Century explorers found it. Enjoy the nostalgic, old-style luxury at your beautiful bush campsites as you explore three major areas of the Park. From the woodlands and riverine bush along the Kafue and Lufupa Rivers to the open grassy lands and the floodplains of Busanga region of the north and northwestern parts of Kafue National Park, the diversity of habitat will allow you to see a vast cornucopia of game. Lions, Leopards, Elephant, Buffalo, many types of antelope and hippos galore, make this safari through Kafue a magical and unforgettable adventure.
It is hard to imagine having such vast tracks of game-filled land, three times the size of Prince Edward Island, all to yourself but that’s how pristine and remote Kafue is. But being in the middle of the bush doesn’t mean hardship, in fact quite the opposite. Each tented camp has a unique setting: Lufupa Camp, for example is based under huge Jackalberry Trees overlooking the Kafue River, and whether you are dining under the stars, sitting round a lively campfire or enjoying wall-to-wall vistas from your well-appointed tents all with en suite facilities, you will experience the real ambiance of African bush life.
Each day is filled to bursting with game viewing in the company of professional rangers as you travel in 4x4 vehicles in search of an endless array of African animals and birds. The magic of early morning game drives and the exhilaration of night drives when the predators are on the prowl will be a never-to-be-forgotten experience.
