This 7-day trek is the most direct and most popular of the Kilimanjaro routes up the eastern side of Kilimanjaro.  You follow a trail that is well defined and ‘climber friendly’ making your adventure a little easier. Departing from your hotel in Moshi in Northern Tanzania, and after a briefing and registering for the trek, the climb begins gradually.  The trail runs through rainforests and past waterfalls onto high moorland, where you trek amongst amazing giant plant life!  As each day passes, you trek through many different types of terrain; from Montane forests and heath land to the extraordinary alpine desert that resembles a lunar landscape where you cross the great saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo.

A good level of comfort is provided en route as you bed down each night in solar-powered huts that have beds with pillows in communal dorms and where tasty meals are provided by camp staff.  The final steep push takes place on the morning of the fourth day, when you will stand, elated, on the Roof of Africa!  Upon successfully completing the climb, and once back at the Park gate, you will receive a summit certificate, an important memento of your incredible climbing adventure.
