Come and experience 5-day’s worth of amazing scenery and exciting game viewing as you travel through the eastern part of South Africa, the Kingdom of Swaziland and Kwazulu-Natal.  This tour is packed with wonderful events, starting with a drive through lovely country-side en route to the world famous Kruger National Park.  Unrivalled for its diversity of flora, fauna and bird life, you’ll have two game drives in the Park where you must keep your eyes peeled for the “Big Five” - Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant and Cape Buffalo!  Before staying at a private game reserve to enjoy a thrilling night drive in open safari vehicles, spend the day driving the Panorama Route with its magnificent scenery, great waterfalls, and spectacular mountain rock formations.

Then it’s off to the tiny, mountainous Kingdom of Swaziland.  Here the road twists and turns through beautiful valleys, surrounded by high peaks.  Pass through the nation’s capital, Mbabane before re-entering South Africa and the province of Kwazulu-Natal.
Staying in Hluhluwe, you’ll not only have another game drive through the Hluhluwe Game Reserve but you’ll also visit the nearby iSimangaliso Wetland Park.  This is a UNESCO World Heritage site (formerly known as the St. Lucia Wetlands) and is a haven for many water-birds, hippo and crocodiles which you’ll view while taking a cruise on the Estuary.

Finally travel down the Indian Ocean coast through rolling fields of sugar-cane before arriving in the city of Durban.  An additional day can be added (optional) at the end of the tour to stay at Shakaland, a re-creation of a traditional Zulu homestead where you’ll discover the fascinating cultural and historic lifestyle of the Zulu people.

+ - Day 1 Johannesburg Sabie Sabie
Arrival

Set off this morning from Johannesburg, travelling east to Mpumalanga, (‘Place where the Sun rises’) via Witbank, Dullstroom and Lydenburg. After passing through the J.G Strijdom Tunnel, marvel at the mountainous scenery whilst passing through a homeland, formerly known as Lebowa.  Continue to your private game lodge near the Kruger national Park.  Arrive in time for afternoon tea, followed by your evening game drive in an open safari vehicle.  Return to the lodge for dinner.

+ - Day 2 Sabie Panorama Route

Take an early morning bush walk or game drive. Then, after breakfast depart for the Panorama Route where you will see Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondawels, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window and Mac Mac Waterfalls. Arrive at your overnight destination in the late afternoon. Casa

After an early breakfast, enter the Kruger National Park to look for the Big Five and the diverse flora and faun. After almost a full day of game viewing.  Exit the park and travel to the Kingdom of Swaziland.  Visit Ngwenya glass factory en route to your hideaway in the Mlilwane Wildlife sanctuary.

+ - Day 4 Hluhluwe

Enjoy a firsthand glimpse into Swaziland’s Rich Cultural Heritage by visiting the Esitjeni Umphakatsi, bordering Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, and experience an interaction with the local people of this vibrant community (weather dependent).  Leave the wonderful country of Swaziland and re-enter South Africa, making your way to the town of Hluhluwe.

+ - Day 5 Hluhluwe Durban

Start the day with a game drive in a closed vehicle in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve. Next visit iSimangaliso Wetland Park in the St. Lucia Estuary where you’ll enjoy a river cruise to see the prolific wetlands bird life, hippo sand crocodiles. Afterwards follow the Indian Ocean coastline south to the bustling city of Durban, arriving in the late afternoon. The tour ends here with either a drop-off at the airport or you may choose to spend an addition night at Shakaland, a traditional Zulu ‘Umuzi’ or homestead, the home of the Zulus.
