Africa

The land of the safari.

+-Overview

Africa is the ultimate land of safaris. This ‘Cradle of mankind’ continent straddles the equator covering one-fifth of the earth’s total land area and is the only continent to stretch from the northern temperate to the southern temperate zones. With 46 countries (including Madagascar), and 53 including all the island groups, the continent is a fascinating kaleidoscope of attractions and a dream-come-true safari destination for almost any traveler. In short, an African Safari is an unmatched travel experience!

SAFARI – in Kiswahili language, simply means journey. At Escapades, ours is a true African family with a deep-rooted passion for travel and connections going back several generations. For the past 35 years (and counting!) we have offered diverse African safaris to14 countries on the continent that we have come to specialize.

In the north, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco are virtually open-air museums unfolding fascinating history of great civilizations of centuries past. History, culture, art and architecture come alive as you walk in the footsteps of the Pharaohs, Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines, Berbers, and the Ottoman Turks.

East Africa is synonymous with the word “Safari”. We invite you to an unforgettable experience as you safari in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, world-famous for their national parks and game reserves. Climb Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kenya for thrilling adventures as you conquer their peaks to chalk off another self-achievement in your life. Take a safari in Tanzania and witness the annual wildebeest migration, a ‘must-see’ on everyone’s wish list. Gorilla trekking in the Virunga Mountains of Rwanda is an mesmerizing experience. Zanzibar, the original Spice Island is a haven of peace and tranquility in addition to being a world-heritage site with its ancient Stone Town. We offer all of the above in exciting and innovatively packaged safari ideas.

Southern Africa is a sparkling gem in the wilderness. A safari in Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, or Namibia offers a treasure-chest of thrilling experiences. Luxury accommodations in remote locations blend with the lay of the land and where, on safari you will come to understand the fragile ecosystems at work. A South African Safari will introduce you to a “world in one country” where natural beauty, wildlife, friendly people, rich culture, world-renowned wines, and fusion cuisine, all come together in natural harmony. And then there are the islands of Madagascar, Mauritius, and Seychelles where the climate is always warm and inviting and the accommodations range from moderate to ultra deluxe. Pristine beaches, a variety of land excursions and water-sports combined with gastronomical dining experiences will keep you occupied throughout your stay.

In our opinion, an African Safari is definitely a promise of a unique holiday. We invite you to look at our extensive collection of possibilities and ideas for exploring a kaleidoscope of cultures, countries and spectacular fauna and flora unequalled anywhere in the world. And…in the unlikely event that you do not find the right African safari or holiday here, we would be happy to customize one just as you would like it.
