OverviewNamibia is a truly ‘golden’ land and you will have a picture-perfect experience as you fly from one end of the country to another on this amazing adventure. All your flights over Namibia are on a Cessna 210 Fixed-wing or Chieftain Aircraft. Great vistas await you in the Namib Desert and at the dramatic Fish River Canyon. Sossusvlei, is an artists dream where a symphony of sand turn into an orchestra of burnished colours as the gigantic desert waves are painted from red through orange by the rising sun. Here you will climb the world’s highest dunes at dawn, a truly unique experience.
Next it’s off towards the Atlantic coast, admiring from the air the vast ‘sea’ of sand dunes below, before landing at Swakomund where you’ll discover its quaint ambience. At nearby Walvis Bay, take a cruise along the shore and share a meal with seals as you watch for marine mammals. Then continue up the Skeleton Coast to Damaraland, an area of distinctive mountain massifs that tower over meandering riverbeds. At Twyfelfontein that means “doubtful spring”, over 6,000 years ago, the San (also known as Bushmen), left their paintings and engravings of the game these hunter-gathers found in the surrounding bush.
Finally savour the excitement of looking for Africa’s wild animals in Etosha Pan National Park, one of the most diverse game sanctuaries in Africa. Around the great Etosha Pan, hundreds of birds and animals come to drink at the waterholes. This is a camera-buff’s paradise as you can get in close for those perfect wildlife photographs.

Accommodations
Canon Lodge
LOCATION – Canon Lodge is situated on the 520 square kilometre, privately owned Gondwana Canyon Park. It is only 20kms from the main viewpoint of Fish River Canyon and is built from natural materials, including local rock and thatch roofs. The lodge is an ideal starting point for visits to the Fish River Canyon. The Canon Lodge’s main area lies in the shelter of a granite hilltop, and the lodge itself has been built amongst enormous boulders, designed to blend in with the natural environment.
Spaced evenly amongst the tall weather-beaten granite boulders are 25 thatched, wooden bungalows. All units are equipped with comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms, a fan and mosquito nets. The farmhouse has been decorated with various farm implements, evoking memories of the pioneering farming days. Guests can relax on the shaded terrace, or laze beside the swimming pool. Gaze at the Fish River Canyon’s incredible scenery whilst enjoying a sundowner on the top of the lodge’s own mountain. Activities include unguided morning hikes, Canyon and scenic drives, horse-riding and a guided sunset walk. Take in the superb scenery in this haunting, arid landscape.
Sossusvlei Lodge
LOCATION – Sossusvlei Lodge is situated on a private reserve adjacent to the Namib-Naukluft Park (sanctuary to the highest dunes in the oldest desert) and a few hundred yards from the entrance to Sossusvlei. You’ll be as close as you can get to the entrance of Sossusvlei and the great sand sea that surrounds it. That gives you an extra half an hour’s lie-in on any of the other lodges in the area because the gates open at sunrise.
In addition to the mandatory visit to the dunes, Sossusvlei Lodge offers many activities on its private reserve of 43,000 hectares and all of them have a strong eco-friendly ethos. There are 45 en-suite rooms each with their own verandah. There is also a swimming pool, bar and curio shop.
Hansa Hotel
LOCATION – The Hansa Hotel is nestled in the very centre of the charming little town of Swakopmund. Wrapped in the shape of a timelessly classical building dating back from 1905, it is an integral part of Swakopmund’s architectural heritage.
The hotel boasts 5 family units, 2 suites, 2 executive suites and 39 double rooms. Each room is individually decorated and fitted with under tile heating, television, telephone, safe, coffee/tea facilities and en-suite bath and showers. The Lodge boasts 56 en-suite double rooms, reception, lounge, curio shop, open dining room, bar and swimming pool.
