The Deep South – 5 days, 4 nights

No visit to Morocco is complete without experiencing the desert and the life of its people, the Berbers.  From Marrakech cross the majestic Atlas Mountains, driving through fertile valleys filled with olive groves and date palms with occasional stops in small villages as you head towards the desert. From the oasis town of Tinghir, travel through the stunning and geologically fascinating Todrah Gorge before arriving at your campsite at Merzouga.  During a 2-night stay, discover the meaning of Berber hospitality and enjoy memorable sunsets and sunrises over the Saharan sand dunes. Then set off   with the Berber guides and experience ‘meharee’, a trek into the desert on camels. Next, explore the dramatic, red volcanic Dades Gorge before staying in the fabled town of Ouarzazate. a former French Foreign Legion garrison town with its particularly picturesque Glaoui Kasbah.
