Lying astride the Equator, Kenya is well known for its diversity and this 10-day safari offers a kaleidoscopic view of Kenya’s four major game reserves.  As you traverse northward and down from the cool highlands of Mt. Kenya into the thorny scrub and acacia dotted savannah of Shaba National Reserve, behold the sight of a leopard straddling a branch or of Grevy’s zebra calmly grazing in these sun-scorched grasslands. In contrast, the Aberdares Mountain Range, located on the edge of Kenya’s Rift Valley is forested lands with very rewarding game viewing from the decks of one of the famous tree lodges.  Here lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant abound and there are rare sightings of the Golden Cat. Lake Nakuru National Park is an ornithologist’s paradise with an abundance of birdlife and is a sanctuary for the black rhino.  And finally there is Maasai Mara, Kenya’s finest game reserve, home to the world-famous annual wildebeest migration. Numbering in millions, the wildebeest, in a vast ensemble, migrate north from the Serengeti plains in search of fresh pastures and return south some five months later.  The Great Migration is one of the most impressive natural events worldwide.
