This 8 day spectacle offers you Kenya’s kaleidoscope of unique vistas and an ever-changing landscape of natural beauty. Take in the peculiar wildlife of the north in Samburu Game Reserve, traverse the lush green highlands and the Great Rift Valley, one of the natural wonders of the world, and be bewildered by the phenomenon at the heart of the Mara eco-system -  the annual migration (June – September) of over a million wildebeest from the Serengeti into Maasai Mara.  No matter what time of the year you wish to travel, Kenya will not disappoint you.

+ - Day 1 Nairobi
Arrival

On arrival into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you are met and greeted by our representative and are provided a private transfer to your hotel.

+ - Day 2 Nairobi Samburu Game Reserve

Depart Nairobi early this morning for Samburu.  North of the Equator some of the animals and vegetation are a little different from those commonly found south.  The Grevy’s zebra, the reticulated giraffe and the Somali ostrich are amongst the peculiar species that attract visitors to Samburu. There is also the long neck gerenuk, beisa, and hunting dog.  Crocodiles in the river can be seen from the lodge.

+ - Day 3 Samburu Game Reserve

Enjoy another day in this harshly beautiful terrain where wildlife abound, especially near the river which is their only source of drinking water. The Uaso Nyiro River flows gently through the dry landscape sustaining life in this harsh land. Shaba National Reserve is where the famous conservationist George Adamson did his research on lions. Lunch and an afternoon of leisure at the pool or another game drive in the late afternoon.

+ - Day 4 Samburu Game Reserve Tree Hotel

Depart Samburu to arrive at the market town of Nyeri in time for lunch. This is where Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Boys’ Scout movement spent the last years of his life and is buried in a cemetery just outside the town. After lunch at the base hotel, drive through to the tree hotel where you spend the afternoon comfortably watching the forest animals that come to the floodlit waterhole and salt lick. As night falls the place gets crowded with large and small forest animals.

+ - Day 5 Tree Hotel Lake Nakuru

The safari leaves for Nyahururu (Thompson’s Falls) at an altitude of 7,738 feet. The falls are named after the Scots explorer Joseph Thompson who was the first European to discover the Falls in 1884. Then comes the descent into the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National park for lunch at one of the hotels. An afternoon drive in the park to enjoy the sight of pelicans and flamingos bathing in the fresh water streams which terminate in Lake Nakuru. This park is truly a bird watchers paradise. The game animals include, hippo, waterbuck, gazelles, colobus monkeys, buffalo, leopard and the Rothschild giraffe. The park is also a sanctuary for the white rhino. Also visit a local school in Nakuru.

+ - Day 6 Lake Nakuru Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Breakfast is at the hotel with enough time for some bird watching en-route to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, arriving in time for lunch.  An afternoon game drive during which it would be possible to locate the huge black-manned lions, for which the reserve is famous.  The Masai Mara boasts 1,672 square km of unspoiled wilderness. It is home to the highest concentration of animals and birds anywhere on the continent. Throughout the year the Mara is a place of natural drama, a kaleidoscope of color and life. The famed “Big Five” - Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Buffalo and Leopard - roam the reserve, together with hundreds of others from the fastest animal on earth, the Cheetah, to one of the most secretive, the Bat-eared Fox.

+ - Day 7 Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Breakfast is at the hotel with enough time for some bird watching en-route to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, arriving in time for lunch.  An afternoon game drive during which it would be possible to locate the huge black-manned lions, for which A full day of game viewing and exploring Kenya’s finest reserve. The vegetation is mostly savannah type with forested areas near the rivers and of course the dwarf acacias to cater for the giraffes. More than 60 species of animals are found here and countless bird species, this includes the Masai ostrich and the secretary bird. This is where the great migration of the wildebeest takes place.

+ - Samburu Simba Lodge

Location:  Samburu Simba lodge is overlooking the Buffalo springs and the Uaso Nyiro River, 300 km north of Nairobi, in Buffalo Springs Game reserve, within Isiolo District.

Overview:  There are 7 villas with 10 rooms in each villa, of those rooms 6 are on the ground floor and 4 are on the 2nd floor of which two rooms are interconnected. The rooms are spacious and offer en-suite bathrooms with showers. The Lodge is equipped with many facilities which include 2 swimming pools, pool side bar, health club and conference room.

+ - Serena Mountain Lodge

LOCATION – Located at 7,200 feet on the slopes of Kenya’s legendary Mount Kenya, 193km northeast of Nairobi and 480km from the Kenyan Coast.  The Lodge is ideally situated as a base for guests who want to climb Mount Kenya

The Serena Mountain Lodge is surrounded by a dense rainforest that comes alive at dusk while the rock peaks of Mount Kenya overlook its abundant game.  The Serena Mountain Lodge offers 42 rooms that all provide a large watering hole that attracts wildlife which can be viewed from each guests more than comfortable rooms.  The bedrooms are furnished with African art, each with a private en suite bathroom. 

+ - Sarova Lion Hill Lodge

LOCATION – Situated in the Rift Valley of Kenya, among the various Nakuru lodges and set on a plateau in an elevation above Lake Nakuru, Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge has 67 chalets all overlooking the lake, within the Lake Nakuru National Park in Nakuru town. It is the perfect place to experience one of the world’s largest ornithological spectacles, The Pink Flamingo, or a rich concentration of wildlife including black and white colobus monkey and is also a famed Rhino Sanctuary.

Lion Hill Lodge features 67 chalets. Each chalet has its own private shower, as well as mosquito nets for each bed. There are also verandahs with views of Lake Nakuru for each chalet. The Lodge also offers a swimming pool and spa service.
