Take in the peculiar wildlife of the north in Samburu Game Reserve, traverse the lush green highlands and the Great Rift Valley, one of the natural wonders of the world, and be bewildered by the phenomenon at the heart of the Mara eco-system - the annual migration (June – September) of over a million wildebeest from the Serengeti into Maasai Mara. On arrival into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you are met and greeted by our representative and are provided a private transfer to your hotel.

After breakfast, drive to Samburu on the south bank of the Uaso Nyiro River. North of the Equator while you will see animals like elephant, black rhino, lion, buffalo, cheetah and the usual antelopes, there are some that are only found in this drier terrain such as the Grevy’s zebra, the reticulated giraffe and the Somali ostrich. You will also find the long neck gerenuk, Beisa,Oryx and wild Cape hunting dogs. Crocodiles in the river can be seen from the lodge / tented camp.

Day 3
Samburu Game Reserve
Another day in this harshly beautiful terrain where wildlife abound especially near the Uaso Nyiro River, which is their only source of drinking water. Shaba National Reserve is where the famous conservationist George Adamson did his research on lions. After lunch spend a relaxing afternoon by the pool.

After breakfast depart the dry regions of northern Kenya to the lush green lands of the central highlands, home to the highest mountain in Kenya, we arrive at the Mount Kenya National Park. The afternoon is spent comfortably watching the forest animals that come to the waterhole and salt lick. In the early evening the waterhole is floodlit so that you can watch in silence as night falls, the place is crowded with large and small forest animals.

After breakfast we drive past the northern tip of the Aberdares to descend into the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park, one of the alkaline lake and the breeding ground for the algae on which the thousands of flamingos live. The park is home to a variety of buck and antelopes, the Burchell’s zebra, Rothschild giraffe, buffalo and even leopard has been sighted here. It is now a sanctuary for the white rhino.

Take a brief walk this morning to savour the beauty and tranquility of these waters. Then it’s on to Kenya’s most famous Maasai Mara National Reserve arriving in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive will familiarize you with the variety of animals and bird life in this beautiful Park. The landscape will fill you with admiration for how the savannah sustains much life as you look out for black-maned lion for which the Maasai Mara is famous.

Enjoy an early morning game drive after a hot cup of coffee or tea. This may be the best time to see a predator make a kill or the sight of one relishing its meal. Breakfast and a leisurely morning spent at the lodge pool, or take another game drive later in the day.

Samburu Simba Lodge
Location: Samburu Simba lodge is overlooking the Buffalo springs and the Uaso Nyiro River, 300 km north of Nairobi, in Buffalo Springs Game reserve, within Isiolo District.
Overview: There are 7 villas with 10 rooms in each villa, of those rooms 6 are on the ground floor and 4 are on the 2nd floor of which two rooms are interconnected. The rooms are spacious and offer en-suite bathrooms with showers. The Lodge is equipped with many facilities which include 2 swimming pools, pool side bar, health club and conference room.
Serena Mountain Lodge
LOCATION – Located at 7,200 feet on the slopes of Kenya’s legendary Mount Kenya, 193km northeast of Nairobi and 480km from the Kenyan Coast. The Lodge is ideally situated as a base for guests who want to climb Mount Kenya
The Serena Mountain Lodge is surrounded by a dense rainforest that comes alive at dusk while the rock peaks of Mount Kenya overlook its abundant game. The Serena Mountain Lodge offers 42 rooms that all provide a large watering hole that attracts wildlife which can be viewed from each guests more than comfortable rooms. The bedrooms are furnished with African art, each with a private en suite bathroom.
Sarova Lion Hill Lodge
LOCATION – Situated in the Rift Valley of Kenya, among the various Nakuru lodges and set on a plateau in an elevation above Lake Nakuru, Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge has 67 chalets all overlooking the lake, within the Lake Nakuru National Park in Nakuru town. It is the perfect place to experience one of the world’s largest ornithological spectacles, The Pink Flamingo, or a rich concentration of wildlife including black and white colobus monkey and is also a famed Rhino Sanctuary.
Lion Hill Lodge features 67 chalets. Each chalet has its own private shower, as well as mosquito nets for each bed. There are also verandahs with views of Lake Nakuru for each chalet. The Lodge also offers a swimming pool and spa service.

Air Conditioning is not available in any tented camp and not included at select lodges. Carrying plenty of drinking water is recommended as vehicles are not air-conditoned.
