Then it’s off to Botswana. Just 100km down the road, cross the border and enter Chobe National Park, the second largest national park in Botswana with its elephant population currently estimated at around 120,000, and home to over 450 species of birds. As the sun sets, just try counting all the families of elephants that come to drink at the Chobe River.
The crowning point of this tour is when you wing your way into the Okavango Delta, one of the world’s largest inland water-based ecosystems and a unique wetland system of rivers, crystal clear channels, island and lagoons. From your comfortable tented camp or lodge and during fantastic daily game viewing excursions, watch large herds of animals such as elephant and buffalo as well as some rare species including wild dogs, the red lechwe and sitatunga. And if you like fishing, then this is just another activity that is available to you.
