This camping extravaganza takes you from South Africa through 4 different countries opening many windows on many different worlds. Setting off from Johannesburg, enter Botswana and meet its elephants along the Chobe River before arriving in Zambia and Victoria Falls. See firsthand ‘Mosi Oa Tuyna’ - the ‘Smoke That Thunders, as the waters of the Zambezi River drop 900 feet over the Falls as well as take part in many exciting optional excursions. After camping beside the great Zambezi River, spend 2 days canoeing along this mighty waterway. Paddling downstream assisted by gentle currents, relax and enjoy the profound sense of peace, tranquility and abundant wildlife and birdlife. The river is full of activity as animals come down to drink, wary of the predatory crocodiles basking in the sun, and where the Zambian fisherman cast their nets. Then it’s off to the unspoiled wilderness of Luangwa Park where time is spent watching the wildlife at the river in front of your camp.
Next it’s on to Malawi, where the 3rd largest lake in Africa runs the length of this small, friendly country. Spend a restful few days admiring this tranquil lake with its crystal clear waters, sandy beaches and beautiful bays, surrounded by high mountains. Before leaving Malawi, spend time visiting Blantyre, the country’s largest city.
Cross the Tropic of Capricorn, passing through scenic countryside filled with African villages and arrive for several days of relaxing on the beautiful, tropical beaches of found along the Indian Ocean coastline of Mozambique. Then it’s back to South Africa for the grand finale – three days and nights of exceptional camping in the Kruger National Park, one of the oldest and largest game reserves in Africa. Driving from north to south, cross the Park’s many rivers, grassy plains and open bush where you will see great herds of game in abundance, including the Big Five – Buffalo, Rhino, Elephant, Lion and Leopard. End this amazing experience back in Johannesburg.
